Use of the Channel Box In the channel box you will see translation, rotation is zero in scale of all axis the memory in 1 almost channel box is on default setting. So the question is how we know the measurements of the cube we just created. Open channel box select the cube. Under the Maya plating options you will see Shapes, pCubeShap1, inputs and polycube1. Click on polycube1 you will see width, height, depth and several options. These are the measurements of the cube you have created.
The polycube1 is 1 cm in width, 1 cm in height and 1 cm in depth. Note:-when you install the Maya on your computer the default settings are set on centimetres so if you type 1 in the channel box in any axis that will be 1 cm. You can change the settings from the preference if you want the measurements in millimetres or inches and so on.
