Extend and Loft SurfacesThis Video Tutorial will Explain the use of Extend Command and Lofting Corner Isoparns of some NURBS surface.
Extending curves or extending surfaces allows us to increase a specific portion of surface in some specific direction on some specific axis. We use it for offsetting sometimes but Maya gives us a special tool for offsetting surfaces as well. Extending surfaces is useful for detailed NURBS Modeling. We go ahead into deep modeling by extending our surfaces bit by bit in very complex scenes of complex, multistory buildings. If you know the précised values of our construction plan, we just put them with extend tool and we can get a very précised surface from where we should start or end some surface. We fill the distance between two extended surfaces by using loft command of surface menu. We choose the end isoparms of on surface and then we duplicate them and then we loft them. this way fill the distances between two extended of offset surfaces.
