SCALESo now we will talk about scale. I just hit the keyboard key R. The icon is Modify >Transformation Tool>Scale
Scale tool is lot like the move tool in this we have the same R G B the X Y and Z axis and yellow box instead of arrows it have boxes. So all we have to do is to grab in the direction we want to scale our object. For example I wanted to scale the object in Y axis I just left click on the green box and hold the mouse button and move the mouse up or down which the way I want to scale my object at. We do the same on the other axis also. The central box which is yellow when we pick this one and move in side or out we may see that we are scaling the all object in every axis this is a global scale. Which allows us can to scale everything. One of the nice things about the scale is that we can scale in negative (this is the part I like the most in modeling) For example you create cube and you want to create an other but in the negative direction just select the cube press Ctrl and D this is duplicate hot key you can go to Edit > duplicate also. And then just pick the point on which you want to create an other cube just scale the cube in that Negative direction here you have it. The other faster way is the channel box as we talked about it in rotate that we just type the memory and we get that angel same is for scale also. When you are scaling the object and the channel box is on you may see the same happening as we saw in the rotation the all axis are there scale X, scale Y, scale Z and just type the ( - ) minus on the front of the memory whatever it is in any axis we can scale your object in negative by just typing the minus ( - ). And if you want to 0 for the scale there is difference now as we always typed 0 to bring back the object to 0 point for scale it is 1 for the 0 point. Just select scale X Y Z in the channel box and type 1 the object will go back to default settings because in Maya we have default setting is 1.
