Select the holder ring again.First alien the edges like this.

 

Remember just move the out side edges only.

Now select the all faces below

 

We use the triangulate command form the Mash to add triangular edges.

Mash > Triangulate

 

Object change like this.

 

Now select the edges we just triangulate like this.

 

These are the edges we so reverse by using the Edit Mash tool Flip Triangle Edge.

Edit Mash > Flip Triangle Edge

 

After apply the tool object`s edges converts like this.

 

Now we have the cease shape we ware after. Now select the vertex form the marking menu and select the vertex below

 

When you are down select the rotate tool and rotate in Y axis until you get shape like this.

 

Now select the following edges and delete them.

 

Be care full when you are delete some edge must check your selection first.

Now you get shape like this.

 

Now we get the diamond shape we ware following.

There is another command to create shape like this which is the Edit mash and Poke Face. What this does it cut the faces diagonally both ways and then adds another vertex.

Let’s create a poly cube.

 

Now select face from marking menu.

 

No select any of face and go into edit Mash and select the Poke Face.

Edit Mash > Poke Face

 

Now see what it dose

 

You just cut the face diagonally and then adds an other vertex

 

Now if you do this for a triangular face what happened again it just by set those three angels

 

So this was the Poke face I just wanted that you may know that there is a poke face tools also available for the tasks we just done.

So now we come to know that we can flip the edges and also can cut the faces also by different ways.

As you know that in polygon object the faces are attached together so when create a poly what ever action we do with that cube the faces keep attached with each others. If you select one signal face, vertex or edge loop and move the whole object moves with it. When ever object extruded same thing repeat. Because the faces are together.

My using the Edit Mash Tool allows us to separate faces.

All we have to do is go in Edit Mesh and uncheck Keep Faces Together. After that when we extrude the faces will not longer attached with each other and we can make so many objects very easy.

Right now let’s do it on the object we are making

Go in Edit Mash and uncheck the keep faces together.

 to

Now select the following faces.

There is another command to create shape like this which is the Edit mash and Poke Face. What this does it cut the faces diagonally both ways and then adds another vertex.

Edit Mash > Extrude

While extruding you may notice the faces are separate now like this.

 

And now shape the ring like bellow.

 

So here is the shape we were looking for.

The faces separation is very faster way to create a hand.
