Now when you come back to the prospective view you may see that the lines (CV curves) you had draw are not on the place way we were expecting. Just because we draw the CV curves in the side view and top.
Don’t worry just use rotation to and place the curve on the point we want. you can see this picture below. After placing the curve on the right place now go ahead and center pivot the CV curve, and also center pivot the other curve we had created. Modify > Center Pivot Now the next command we are going to use is extrude. Not form the polygon Edit Mesh tool , surfaces do have Extrude in Surfaces, Do not forget to change Manu tool polygon to surfaces And then you see the menu has changed. Now you do have Extrude in Surfaces, The extreme is different in Surfaces. Surfaces Nurbs based penal in Maya. Extrude is different from polygon Edit Mash menu. Let's use extrude so you know how it works. Once again we use shifts select. Fast we select this CV curves shape we had created
And then shifts select the CV curve we just placed just like the picture below. Now go in Surfaces and extrude. Surfaces > Extrude The transaction we just did will show like this. So this is the extrude command in Surfaces. You can see how easily you can make the shapes which are very complicated. It’s on you how you like to created the stand for the lamp. You can also draw a curve circle from anywhere
Create > NURBS primitives > Circle Draw the circle on grid. Now select the cycle and the CV curve now extrude you will get the shape like this.
As I mentioned before that until we do have the history of the transactions we are making we still have controls and we can change the shape to by using the old curves. As I did here is the picture of that. When you are done go-ahead delete the history. |
