While we go farther there is some thing I have to tell you about. We have learned channel box and outliner but there is another major panel left which calls the attribute editor.

If you remember I mentioned an icon of attribute editor nearby at the channel box icon.

In Maya we do have several ways one is click on the icon near the channel box icon  are select the object and press ( Alt + a) attribute edited will appear in the same place where the channel box appeared all the time.

The attribute editor is almost like the channel box. But there are a lot of functions in it.

The attribute editor is different for every single object. What it continues is all of the things that make the object what it is.

For example as we made the Holder ring we mad some of changes and reshaped. The ring actually was a pipe. In attribute editor we do have access to all of the actions we had and ever one has its own separate tab and we have lot and lot of accesses options in each tab.

This is the history of the object. Each tab is holding all the manipulation tools and all the options belong to the move we made.

This is the texture color option in attribute editor you can change the color if of the object from here. Just click on the color a window will appear like this.

 

Change the color if you want. The color Lambert is the default color if you change it here all the objects you make now had the color you had changed from Attribute editor.

We will lean the color process when we come in Texturing. Right now it is just if you don’t like the gray color which is the default color in Maya you can change it form here.

This is the attribute editor. There is log definition of this tool right now we get it just here. We use it a lot when we get further you will come to know.

But one important thing is that when you delete the history all actions you did with the object will delete. So this is also a good way if you won’t to go back and change the basics form where you stat model the object. As you can see that we do have lot of labs in holder ring but we have few in the base cube.

 

Because we delete the history that’s why there is few lab only. As I mention before that he attribute editor is different for ever object. You can check as we have different types of objects in our Maya seen, the base which is made by a poly cube, stand is surface Nurbs and all the other objects. You may notice when you select the objects one by one attribute editor is change for each of one.
